KIAC Women's Basketball Polls Released
After winning the KIAC basketball titles in 2005, Bethel College (Tenn.) is picked to repeat as conference champs in 2006, according to polls released by the conference coaches.
The Lady Wildcacts received four first place votes as the top school in the rankings. Indiana-Southeast and Berea College (Ky.) round out the top three.
Bethel College (Tenn.) won the 2005 KIAC Women's Basketball Tournament, after finishing second in the regular season conference standings. All-conference players Dani Howard and Megan Reynolds return to help defend that title. Berea College (Ky.) actually finished as the regular season conference champion, with a 10-1 record. They will be led by hot shooting guards Crystal Davis and Rebecca May, who were all-conference in 2005. The 2005 KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, Indiana-Southeast's Christina DeMaio, and her teammate Megan Mineer, who earned All-Conference honors, return to lead the Grenadiers. Midway College (Ky.)'s Ashley Parker returns for the Eagles.
