Bethel's Howard reaches two career milestones
Bethel College (Tenn.) Lady Wildcat Senior Dani Howard (Trenton, TN) recently etched her name in two very prestigious categories in the Bethel College women's basketball record books. Howard joined both the 1000-point and 500-rebound clubs recently and became just the fourth Lady Wildcat in Bethel College women's basketball history to achieve this honor.
Howard picked her 1000th point during a win against KIAC rival Spalding University (Ky.) at home on January 14 where she dropped in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. In this past Saturday's win against KIAC Midway College (Ky.), Howard grabbed her 500th rebound and wrote her name into the BC Women's basketball history books as the fourth woman to reach such a feat. Howard achieves this accomplishment in just under three seasons at Bethel. Howard played as a freshman at Lambuth University (Tenn.).
"I am so proud of Dani," commented Bethel Head Coach Larry Eddings. "She has worked so hard over the past year to improve her overall game. This is just one of her many accomplishments that shows hard work does pay off."
This season, Howard averages 13.8 points per game while shooting 45.4% from the field. She is the team leader in rebounds with 7.4 per game. Dani also averages 1.1 blocks per game and 1.4 steals per game. She has recorded three double doubles thus far this season. "I love to coach players like Dani who have a desire to win and be the best," added Eddings. "Her attitude and toughness rubs off on our team and makes us better."
