Asbury swim team to help out during holidays
Team to spend one week in Pass Christian, Mississippi.
January 3-8 will be a challenging time for swimmers and divers from Asbury College. Christmas break is usually spent either training at home or on a Christmas training trip in a comfortable location. Asbury swimming and diving will be combining their training trip with a service/mission opportunity in Pass Christian, Mississippi, where this area is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina. The swimmers, divers, and coaching staff will train in Biloxi, Mississippi (about 30 miles from the Pass) in the morning and then serve doing cleanup work in the afternoon and early evening. They will be staying in the First United Methodist Church which houses the work/mission groups who come in to help the recovery. Asbury College has sent several different mission teams to "the Pass" since Hurricane Katrina, and our swimming and diving team are excited about this unique combination of training and service over the Christmas break.
