Asbury College's Women and Men secure the first conference titles of the 2007-08 season.

The women shut out Brescia University 4-0, while the men shut out Brescia University's men 4-2. Both teams will advance to the 2007 NAIA Region XII Tournament late next week in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

For the women, Top seeded Asbury College used a dominant performance in the first half to win over Brescia 4-0 in Owensboro, Ky. Asbury College came out dominant in the first fifteen minutes, scoring three goals in that time span. Two of those were within the first five minutes. Brescia tried to capitalize on scoring opportunities including a penalty that just barely deflected off the goalie's hands midway through the second half. After a 3-0 Asbury lead at half, the teams played aggressive but were confined to the midfield for most of the half. A late penalty kick was an exception and sealed the final goal for Asbury.

On the men's side, both teams had good close shots on goal early in a lively first half. Third seeded Asbury College broke the deadlock with a shot off the goalpost and a penalty kick to surge ahead 2-0 20 minutes in. Top seeded Brescia would take the next 10 minutes to erase that lead off a goal and a penalty kick to even the score for the rest of the half. Asbury would open scoring in the second half with a goal in the 55th minute and the third penalty kick of the game overall in the 70th minute to finish off the 4-2 win.
