2007 Kentucky Intercollegiate Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket Set
Six teams battle for trip to Point Lookout, Missouri in March
The 2007 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball tournament bracket was announced Sunday night. All games for the tournament are held February 22nd to February 24th at HOOPS in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. The winner of the tournament gets an automatic bid to the 32 team NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship Tournament held in Point Lookout, Missouri from March 7th-13th, 2007.
Spalding (17-13, 7-2 in KIAC) and Asbury (21-8, 7-2) received byes based on their first and second place regular season finish in the six team conference. Spalding wins a tiebreaker over Asbury based on two wins over them in the regular season.
Two quarterfinal games will be played on Thursday. Fourth seeded Berea (12-16, 3-6 in KIAC) will take on 5th seeded Alice Lloyd (10-17, 2-7) at the noon game. 3rd seeded IU Southeast (18-9, 6-3) faces 6th seeded St. Louis College of Pharmacy at (5-19, 0-5) at 2 pm.
The semifinals involve Spalding vs. Berea/Alice Lloyd winner at 2pm on Friday, followed by Asbury vs. IU Southeast/STLCOP winner at 4pm on Friday. The two winners will vie for the tournament title at 5pm on Saturday.
