Berea Women and Spalding Men pairings ANNOUNCED

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (February 28, 2007) The two Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference representatives have their opponents for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II National Basketball 32-team tournaments. Both Spalding University men's team and Berea College women's team face top five ranked teams in the first round.

On the men's side, Spalding (19-13) will take on 3rd ranked Point Park (Pa.) (29-1) in a 6:45 Eastern Time tip on Wednesday. The game will be played as part of the 16th annual NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. Spalding clinched their bid on Saturday after knocking off Asbury College in the KIAC Men's Basketball Tournament final.

Berea's (22-7) women play the 4th ranked Bethel (Ind.) (26-6) on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. Eastern Time. The game is part of The 16th Annual NAIA Division II Women's National Championship at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Berea's bid came after an upset victory over KIAC Women's Basketball Tournament top seed Alice Lloyd College in Saturday's final.

The winners of both games would advance to Friday's Round of 16 play. The quarterfinals are on Saturday, with semifinals on Monday, and the Division II Championship games on Tuesday. Both the Men's and Women's Division II National Basketball Championship Games will be televised on CSTV live. All Men's games of the tournament are played in Point Lookout, while all women's games are held in Sioux City.
