Kincaid released to play after recurrence of liver cancer.
Anna Kincaid has received a medical release to return to the Lady Cougars softball lineup for the 2007-08 season. Kincaid has been recovering from liver surgery in April after a recurrence of cancer. Her first battle occurred in 2004 when most of her original liver was removed. Treatments and chemotherapy were not enough to stop the spread to the remaining portion forcing Kincaid to sit out last season while she underwent
treatment.

In April, Kincaid received the news she had waited for. A new liver was available and doctors at the Cleveland Clinic performed the surgery. Her spirits have remained high according to Mountain State softball coach Tim Berry who describes her as a "definite success story".

Kincaid will return to classes this fall and play her second year at second base for Mountain State.
