Scouts to get look at Region XII First Team Player.

Wilmore, KY - Senior Manes Preptit has earned an invitation to a Feb. 22-23 training combine of the Charleston (S.C.) Battery, a first-division club of the United Soccer Leagues (USL). The combine will also feature coaches and scouts from Major League Soccer (MLS).

"We're extremely proud of Manes and his accomplishments getting recognition for his efforts, being a solid leader for us as a senior this year," said Josh Oakley, Asbury's Men's Soccer head coach.

Preptit was a four-year starter at Asbury, earning an NAIA All-American honorable mention selection after this, his senior season. Preptit registered two goals and four assists after moving to a defensive position after three years at either midfield or forward. Along with the NAIA selection, Preptit also earned NAIA Region XII, first team honors as well as an NCCAA All-Mid East Region selection. Preptit also finished second in the overall voting for the Player of the Year in the Mid East Region. He was also named to his third straight All-KIAC team.

Preptit is believed to be only the second Asbury player in the history of the program to be honored with an NAIA All-American selection, joining David Penalva ('78) for his efforts on the 1977 team that defeated Morehead State and the University of Kentucky.
