Soccer and Volleyball Players of the Week
October 20th to October 26th Players of the Week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (October 27th, 2008) The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is proud to announce Player of the Week honors for October 20th- October 26th in Soccer and Volleyball.
Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week: Michel Hiza, Mountain State University
Michel Hiza was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for October 20th- October 26th. Hiza is a 5-10 junior defender from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Hiza scored a goal and assist in the 4-0 win. The goal was his first on the season.
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week: Roberto Clerveaux, Mountain State University
Roberto Clerveaux was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for October 20th- October 26th. Clerveaux is a 6-0 freshman goalkeeper from Boynton Beach, Florida. Clerveaux made seven saves in his latest shutout against Averett University. His streak of shutouts is now up to 405 minutes.
Volleyball Player of the Week: Jennifer Basher, Mountain State University
Jennifer Basher was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for October 20th- October 26th. Basher is a 5-11 senior outside hitter from Orlando, Florida. Basher had 35 kills and 35 digs in four matches on the week. She had 11 kills and 6 digs in match against Brescia University.
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week: Katie Arsenault, Midway College
Katie Arsenault was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for October 20th- October 26th. Arsenault is 5-9 junior defender from Crestwood, Kentucky (South Oldham H.S.). Arsenault anchored a defense including a shutout of Asbury College. With the win, the team will finish the year at 2-2 in the KIAC in the first year for the program since a six year hiatus.
