WOMENS GAMES
12:00 PM No.1 Midway College vs. No. 5 Asbury College: Midway leads 2-0 in 2008
Narrow wins mark the two games this season with Midway emerging victorious. An eight point win on January 29th at Midway was followed up with a five point win on the tournament host Asbury's floor Monday. Jackie Hicks leads in average points in the earlier games for Midway at 14 per game. On the boards, Ashley Parker has been in the top ten of NAIA Division II in defensive and total rebounds (17 in the first Asbury game). Asbury will counter on the glass with Lindsey Wood and Anna Stephenson who both had ten rebounds in separate games in the series this year. The scoring figures on the year also figure to have the two heavily involved in the mix.
2:30 PM No. 2 Indiana University Southeast vs. No. 3 Berea College: Series Split in 2008
Both home teams in the contests have won. Berea won convincingly 107-75 on January 17th, while IU Southeast won in the return contest 69-64 last Saturday. The decisive meeting will occur on neutral ground with IU Southeast looking to limit Berea's three point barrage (43 percent in the win, 23 percent in the loss). Andrea Chambers had the highest IU Southeast's point total in the series with 20. For Berea, Ashley Howard scored over 20 in both contests. Candy Walls held the rebounding lead for the Mountaineers at 9 a game in the series.
MEN'S GAMES
5:00 PM No. 1 Indiana University Southeast vs. No. 4 Asbury College: IU Southeast leads 2-0 in 2008
IU Southeast had six players with 10 plus points in the 100-72 February 9th contest. Asbury made it tough in the contest in New Albany, losing only by 70-65. IU Southeast's dominated the first game in assists and blocks. IU Southeast's edge on the boards in the game was from Charlie Gonzales with 12 boards. Asbury will look to the second game and nearly even stats as a source of inspiration. Three players had more than 13 points (Ben Spann, Michael Spann, and Brett Johnson) in the game.
7:30 PM No. 2 Berea College vs. No. 3 Alice Lloyd College: Berea leads 2-0 in 2008
Berea first win against Alice Lloyd on January 15th was narrowly repeated on Berea's floor February 5th. Berea's Jordan Samuels was the leading scorer on the team in both games with 22 and 27 respectively. As a team, Berea outrebounded Alice Lloyd in both games with the margin being narrowed to only six in the second contest. For Alice Rodney Mitchell has led the team with 20 points in the February game and the team over the season.
