IU Southeast Names Joe Glover Assistant Athletic Director

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (July 29, 2008) - Indiana University Southeast announced today that Joe Glover will now serve as assistant athletic director for the University.

Glover is beginning his fourth year with the IU Southeast Athletic Department, previously serving as sports information specialist for Grenadier Athletics. Glover joined the athletic department in July of 2005, after working in the sports information department at the University of Louisville.

In his new role, Glover will be responsible for marketing, facility scheduling, and media relations. He will also aid Athletic Director Pat Mrozowski with the overall guidance of the athletic department while taking on additional administrative and personnel management responsibilities.

"This is an exciting opportunity for me personally," said Glover. "Our campus community is making some exciting transformations this year, and I am dedicated to helping our athletic department capitalize on new opportunities for the ongoing betterment of our University."

During his three years as sports information specialist, Glover's redesigns of the Grenadiers' athletic Web site have resulted in web traffic increases of more than 95 percent. He has also served as media coordinator and liaison for multiple Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) post-season tournaments, including the KIAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship in 2005.

"Joe has been our part-time sports information specialist for the last few years and has done an outstanding job," said Mrozowski. "I truly feel he is the best sports information official in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). I am really looking forward to working with Joe, with sports information, and on the other aspects of his expanded role within our department.

"Now one of the youngest assistant athletic directors in collegiate athletics at age 22, Glover graduated with distinction from IU Southeast in May with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Glover's dedication to academics earned him the honor of being named Outstanding Marketing Graduate.

In 2006, Glover earned his Associate of Science in Business Administration from IU Southeast and graduated from New Albany Sr. High School with an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma in 2004. While at New Albany High School, Glover was the football and basketball play-by-play radio voice of the Bulldogs.

A native of New Albany, Glover is an aspiring athletic director with a strong background in athletic marketing and media relations. Glover currently resides in New Albany and is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) where he serves on the national committee for radio and television.

"IU Southeast and its students are vital to our community. I look forward to working hard to ensure that all University stakeholders know the important role Grenadier athletics plays within our campus community," said Glover. "Our coaches and athletes are dedicated to creating successful programs in which every student, parent, alum, faculty, and staff member can be proud. I will work hard to make sure that their effort and hard work is well known within our community."
