Second half of preseason polls released

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 27th, 2008) - The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is proud to announce the coaches preseason poll results for the 2008 Fall Season. The preseason picks to win the conference are Berea College in Men's Cross Country, Asbury College in Women's Cross Country, and Indiana University Southeast in Women's Tennis.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY- The distribution of first place votes and new teams led to a tight race in polling. In the end, last year's KIAC are favored to repeat. Berea College edged out St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Asbury College to win. The trio of teams finished atop the 2007 meet.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY- Asbury College is predicted to win with five of the six first place votes. St. Louis College of Pharmacy received the other vote. Berea and Midway are right behind in third and fourth. These four finished in same order last year at the 2007 meet except for Berea being in second and STLCOP in third.
WOMEN'S TENNIS- IU Southeast is picked to repeat and Midway is picked second by the coaches, mirroring the last year's tournament. The sport will contest its championship this year in the fall.
