IU Southeast's AD becomes third time winner

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) announced today that Pat Mrozowski has been named KIAC Athletic Director of the Year. This is the fifth consecutive year Mrozowski has won this conference honor.

Mrozowski led his department to six KIAC regular season championships and four KIAC conference tournament championships during the 2008-09 academic year.

"We congratulate Pat on this tremendous honor," said KIAC Commissioner Bill Melton."We all appreciate Pat's devotion to his school, the KIAC Athletic Conference, and to the conference executive committee."

Mrozowski is in his sixth season as the Athletic Director at Indiana University Southeast. Pat is a native of Port Huron, Michigan and was a 1972 graduate of Michigan State University. He managed and successfully coached for 10 years at various high schools in Michigan and Ohio. Mrozowski made the transition to the college athletics level a few years later where he started as an assistant football and track coach.

In 1984, Mrozowski left athletics and began a long career in financial aid. In 1999, he assumed duties as the director of financial aid at Indiana University Southeast. Although he cherished the time he spent in financial aid, Mrozowski never lost his enthusiasm for intercollegiate athletics. So when the chance came to become the athletic director at IU Southeast, he welcomed the opportunity.

A leader and respected athletic administrator in the NAIA, Mrozowski has been named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) Athletic Director of the Year four other times (2005-08). He also served as KIAC Conference President for two years (2004-06) and earned NAIA Region XII Athletic Director of the Year in 2006.

He is also an active member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), serves as KIAC treasurer, and currently sits on the NAIA National Administrative Council (NAC).
