KIAC Preseason Polls are released

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 19th, 2009) -The 2009 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Fall Preseason Coaches polls were released on Wednesday for the six sports sponsored in the season. The votes are from KIAC head coach responses for regular season finish of the teams.

The nine team volleyball conference had the top four separated by four votes. Asbury, IU East Mountain State and IU Southeast would be seeded in that order 1-4 if the voting holds true. All four made the semis in the 2008 tournament.

For Soccer, Asbury's Women is predicted to repeat their 2008 title, which Midway chosen as the number two team. On the men's side, Asbury edged out Brescia who is back after a one year hiatus. Mountain State's men, who won the 2008 Regular season and Tournament Champion is picked third.

In Women's Tennis IU Southeast, Midway and Brescia are picked in that order to lead the conference in 2009. IU Southeast won the title over Midway in 2008.

For Cross Country, Berea's men topped the voting with a slight edge over Brescia. The teams finished 1-2 in the 2008 KIAC meet. Asbury's women are picked to lead with the St. Louis College of Pharmacy predicted to move up to second place and Berea at third ahead of 2008 champion Brescia.
