KIAC Institutions Recognized with Five Star Award
BEREA, Ky - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the Champions of Character Scorecard and four KIAC member schools have been recognized as Champions of Character Five Star Institutions. The KIAC colleges and universities receiving this prominent distinction include Alice Lloyd College, Cincinnati Christian University, Indiana University East, and Midway College. Each institution will be recognized at the 70th Annual NAIA National Convention in April 2011.
"I am proud of ALC, CCU, IUE, and Midway. I commend the ADs, coaches, and student-athletes for a job well done," said Bill Melton, KIAC commissioner. "I look forward to seeing all KIAC schools obtaining Champion of Character status."

The Champions of Character initiative is one that encourages and supports all NAIA schools to pursue excellence in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. Specifically, the program highlights the core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. All NAIA member institutions are evaluated and assigned points in the following categories: character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion.
