Grenadiers Face Cincinnati Bearcats in Exhibition Matchup

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's basketball team heads to Cincinnati tomorrow night (Nov. 9) to take on the University of Cincinnati Bearcats at Fifth Third Arena at 7 p.m. in an exhibition game.

The Grenadiers have already played two regular-season games and enter Tuesday's matchup with a record of 1-1.Jazzmarr Ferguson has picked up where he left off at the end of last season and set the IU Southeast single-game scoring record with 46 points on Friday night against Mid-Continent.

This season, Ferguson is averaging 36.5 points per game on 57 percent shooting.He is shooting 67 percent from three point range.

The Bearcats lost their two top scoring threats with the graduation of Deonta Vaughn and the Indiana Pacers' selection of Lance Stephenson in the second round of this year's NBA Draft.

The Bearcats are led by senior forward Yancy Gates, an honorable mention to the All-Big East team.He averaged 10.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season.

During the Bearcats' first preseason game on Nov. 1, the duo of Gates and junior guard Dion Dixon combined for 46 points against Carleton University to win 89-57.

This will be the last preseason game for the Bearcats as they face Mount St. Mary's to tip off the season Nov. 15,The Grenadiers return to regular season play on Friday Nov. 12 against Purdue Calumet as part of the IU-Purdue Classic in Hammond, Ind. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
