Mikah Turner wins NAIA National Player of the Week Mikah Turner takes home second National Player of the Week Award.KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Mikah Turner of Berea College (Ky.) was named the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Turner was honored based on his performances from Feb. 8-14. He was chosen out of a pool of player of the week selections among 12 conferences and independents.

Turner, a 6-3 senior forward from Maysville, Ky., recorded three games of 30-points in three wins last week for Berea. He has helped the Mountaineers win eight of their last 10 games.

He started the week with a 30-point, five rebound effort on Feb. 9 in the 87-79 road win at Alice Lloyd (Ky.). In the 96-73 win over Indiana East on Feb. 12, Turner posted his 2,000th career point. He finished with 35 points and 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double on the year. Going for his fourth straight 30-plus point game, Turner netted 31 in the 103-90 victory over Cincinnati Christian on Feb. 13.

For the season, Turner has gone over 10 points in all 26 games and is riding a streak of 15 straight games of hitting for at least 20 points.

In three wins last week, Turner averaged 32.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals. He shot 58.2 percent (39-for-67) from the floor, including 7-of-18 (.389) from the 3-point line and 11-of-14 (.786) from the free-throw line.

In NAIA statistics, Turner is first in the country in scoring (27.7 ppg) and 24th in 3-pointers made per game (2.8).
