Midway College Runner Nominated for A.O. Duer Award

Track and Cross Country Star nominated for off and on the field acheivement.
Sarah Sykes of Midway College was chosen as the KIAC's female nominee for the NAIA's A.O. Duer Award. The A.O. Duer award is given annually to male and female Junior who has a minimum of 3.75 GPA and has excelled academically as well as athletically. The national award winners are presented a trophy and a $1000 scholarship. Sarah is varsity member of both the Cross-Country and Track Teams at Midway majoring in elementary education with a 3.92 GPA. In addition to Sarah's scholastic and athletic accomplishments she is active in several community outreach programs including founding the Midway College chapter of Best Buddies an organization that serves the developmentally disabled.
National Award winners will be announced in late March.
