Knight Named NAIA Player of the Week
Molly Knight was named NAIA Softball Player of the Week for
the week of March 8th-14th as announced by the NAIA Office on Tuesday
afternoon. Knight a freshman catcher
from Nicholasville, Kentucky helped lead the Eagles to a 3-1 mark on the week.
Knight was 9-12 from the plate in four games and racked up
13 RBIs. She hit her first collegiate
home run in a 25-0 rout of Ohio Christian on Saturday and proceeded to go 4-4
in the game and set school records for doubles (3), total bases (12), and RBI
(8). Knight collected an RBI in all four
games during the week and had two hits in three of those games; she only had
one at-bat in one game and got a hit. Knight had a slugging percentage of 1.250 for the week.
For the season Knight is batting .484 with a team high 18
RBIs and three doubles. She also leads
in the team with 15 hits and has collected one triple and one home run. She has scored eight runs and is slugging
.742.
Asbury returns to the field on Thursday as they host KIAC
rival Berea College for a double-header starting at 5:30 pm.
