RICHMOND, Ky. - Something about the Berea College Spring Tee-Off brings
out the best in Indiana University East junior golfer Nick Ary.
Ary broke his own men's golf school record for 36 holes en route to winning medal honors at the Berea College Spring Tee-Off on March 27.
Ary (Brookville, Ohio/Brookville High School) finished the two-day tournament with a 147. He carded a two-over 74 in the final round March 27 on the 6,313-yard layout at Battlefield Golf Club.
The previous IU East record for 36 holes was 148, set by Ary at the 2009 Berea College Spring Tee-Off.
"Nick did a good job of playing consistently the whole way through," IU East coach Von Ebeling said. "The whole team is really happy for him."
Ary's performance helped IU East finish second in a field of four Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools with a two-day total of 666.
Brescia won the tournament with a 629.
Berea was third with 669 and Cincinnati Christian fourth with 684.
