Duncan, Grenadier Women's Basketball Record Milestones
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Even though the IU Southeast women's basketball team has just started conference play, it has already achieved a couple of milestones this season.
Senior guard
Whitney Duncan (Louisville, Ky.) scored her 1,000th career point on Nov. 30, 2010 at St. Catharine College. She is the 20th member of the women's basketball program to reach the 1,000 point club. Currently, Duncan has scored 1,092 points in her career which ranks 13th on the Grenadiers' all-time scoring list. Duncan is seven points away from passing Monica Baldon (1987-97) for 12th place with 1,099 points. IU Southeast's all-time leading scorer in women's basketball is Julie Pace (1989-1993) with 2,078 points.

Bernie Merkel, achieved another milestone on Dec. 30, 2010 when it recorded the 500th victory in school history with a 72-63 win over Union College. Currently, the team's overall record is 501-476 with a winning percentage of .513. Farris is in his 22nd season as the head coach of the Grenadiers.
