Brittany Bird, Brescia University -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

5-3 Senior - Millwood, KY

Brescia University guard Brittany Bird was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 24^th. This is her fifth conference player of the week award on the season. In a pair of games last week, Bird averaged 23.5 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. She scored 18 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a 76-65 loss to Oakland City University. Bird led Brescia to a 79-71 victory over conference opponent Asbury University. She scored 29 points while making all six 3-point attempts. For the week, Bird connected on 48 percent of her shots from the field (12-of-25). She also made 72.7 percent of her shots behind the arc (8-of-11). The senior guard currently ranks 3^rd in NAIA Division II points per game with an average of 22.95. Brescia is set to return to action on January 25^th when they travel to Cincinnati Christian University.
