Brittany Bird, Brescia University -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

5-3 Senior - Millwood, KY

Brescia University guard Brittany Bird was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 31^st. This is her sixth conference player of the week award on the season. In three conference games last week, Bird averaged 17.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3.3 steals. The senior guard nearly recorded a triple-double in a 66-63 loss to Cincinnati Christian University. She scored 18 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 10 assists. In a 78-69 win against Midway College, Bird scored 29 points and had nine assists. On the season, she is averaging a conference best 22.22 points per game which ranks fifth in NAIA Division II. She also ranks second in the nation in steals (4.17) and assists (6.69) per game. Brescia returns to action on February 1^st when they host CCU.
