Brescia University senior guard Clarissa Houston was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, February 7th.
In three games last week, Houston averaged 22 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals. The highlight of the week was her 43 points in a victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She made 14-of-18 from the field including 13-of-16 from behind the arc to go along with 4 rebounds and 4 steals. In a 73-69 victory over Alice Lloyd College, she scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. For the week, Houston made 51.2 percent of her fields goals (21-of41) and made 69.2 percent of her 3-point attempts (18-of-26).
She is currently fifth in the KIAC with a scoring average of 15 points per game and leads all NAIA Division II in total 3-point field goals made with 91. Brescia is set to return to action on February 10th when they host IU Southeast.
