KIAC Male Comeback Player of the Year
Indiana University Southeast baseball player Craig Roberts was named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Comeback Player of the Year.
Roberts was forced to red shirt the 2010 baseball season due to a season ending torn ACL. After sitting out last year and participating in physical therapy to rehabilitate the injury, Roberts was cleared to return to the Grenadiers for the 2011 season. He just concluded a very successful regular season and KIAC conference tournament for IU Southeast. The sophomore infielder was ranked in several conference statistical categories. He finished second in batting average (.442), fourth in slugging percentage (.589), third in runs batted in (43), and second in doubles (16). IU Southeast finished the regular season in first place and won the conference tournament. They had a 23-2 conference record and 37-13-1 overall record. They will open play in the NAIA Championship Opening round as a #3 seed against #2 seed Faulkner University at 2:30 pm on Thursday, May 12th. The opening round will be played at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, TN
