Wendy Hoffman Named Athletic Director of the Year

Wendy Hoffman of Midway College was named the KIAC Athletic Director of the Year. Hoffman started at Midway as an assistant professor in the business division. She started the tennis program in 1996 and became the Athletic Director in the fall of 2007.

On receiving the award, Hoffman said, "I am truly honored to receive the KIAC Athletic Director of the Year award for 2010-11 and am deeply appreciative of such an acknowledgement from my peers. The KIAC has one of the longest and most competitive histories of intercollegiate athletics in the NAIA. To be a part of its tradition and contribute to its excellence is a privilege that I recognize and value very highly. The member schools of the KIC and their athletic staffs work with great diligence, commitment and camaraderie to bring a fulfilling experience to our student-athletes. Their work in combination with my efforts made this award possible for me, and, most importantly, makes the KIAC a conference of great opportunity for college athletes."

Midway College competes in a number of sports within the conference. Hoffman notes, "Midway College Athletics provides an intensive, engaging learning environment for student-athletes. Our practice programs are developed to allow athletes to improve sport specific skills, overall conditioning, and a strategic mindset. Our highly competitive schedules due to our membership in the KIAC build our teams' enthusiasm and desire to perform. Finally, our strong commitment to and involvement with community service and the NAIA Champions of Character program reinforces the character strength of our athletes and coaches. Students and staff share and enjoy great experiences and challenges while pursing excellence in their sport."
