Brescia University freshman Alex Schubert was named the KIAC men's tennis player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, May 2nd. Schubert and Brescia University claimed the KIAC tournament championship last week. The Brescia freshman won his singles semi-final match 6-0, 6-0 and his doubles match 8-2. In the finals against IU Southeast, he won his #1 singles match 6-3, 6-3 and his #1 doubles match 8-6. Brescia defeated Berea College 8-1 in the semi-finals on Friday and earned the championship on Saturday with a 7-2 victory over IU Southeast. Brescia finished the regular season and post-season undefeated in the conference.
