KIAC Leads with Four Champions of Character Awards

KIAC Leads with Four Champions of Character Awards The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference completed the 2010-2011 season with four teams that received the NAIA Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Award.

The KIAC tied two other NAIA conferences for the most teams receiving this award. No other conference received more than four team awards. The Champions of Character Program is geared toward teaching student-athletes and coaches about the positive impact that they can have on others by demonstrating 5 Core Values. These values are: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.

The KIAC teams and their coaches who received the Champions of Character Award:

Alice Lloyd College, Women's Basketball, Coach John Mills

Indiana University East,Men's Basketball, Coach Mark Hester

Indiana University East,Women's Golf, Coach Von Ebeling

Indiana University East,Men's Golf, Coach Von Ebeling

Asbury University's swimming and diving team, which is a non-sponsored KIAC sport, also received the Five Star Champions of Character Award. They are led by Coach Alex Keyser.
