Men's and Women's Cross Country Preseason Polls Released

Berea selected by coaches as preseason favorite for men's and women's cross country.

Berea College Men's Cross Country Preseason Favorite

The KIAC coaches have selected Berea College as the top men's cross country team according the preseason poll released today. The Berea men won the 2010 conference championship last season. They collected 64 points in the poll including all eight first place votes. Brescia was last season's championship runner-up and was selected in the second spot by league coaches with 52 points. Asbury and IU East claimed the third and fourth spots with 42 points and 39 points respectively. They are followed in the poll by St. Louis College of Pharmacy (34 points), Mountain State (25 points), Cincinnati Christian University (19 points), and Alice Lloyd (13 points). The 2011 cross country season will begin the first of September.

Berea College Women's Cross Country Preseason Favorite

The KIAC coaches have selected Berea College as the top women's cross country team according the preseason poll released today. The Berea women won the 2010 conference championship last season. They collected 79 points in the poll including seven first place votes. Brescia was last season's championship runner-up and was selected second by the coaches with 67 points including a pair of first place votes. Asbury and St. Louis College of Pharmacy claimed the third and fourth positions in the poll with 60 points and 51 points respectively. They are followed by IU East (47 points), Midway and Mountain State (33 points), Cincinnati Christian (21 points), and Alice Lloyd (14 points). The 2011 cross country season will begin the first of September.
