IU Southeast Announces New Assistant Athletic Director
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - IU Southeast announced today the hiring of Denny Williams as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations.
"We are very fortunate to have Denny on our team," said IU Southeast Athletic Director Joe Glover. "Denny understands the mission of this University and how the role of athletics on our campus helps shape our students' experiences. He is also very experienced with facility management and game operations and will provide excellent guidance for our program as we continually grow and improve."
Williams has served as the Interim Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations since August 2010.He graduated from the University of Louisville in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in sports administration and will earn a master's degree in sports management with an emphasis in compliance this fall from the United States Sports Academy.He was also a standout pitcher for the Cardinals' baseball team and led the Cardinals pitching staff in starts, wins and complete games during his senior season.
During his time at IU Southeast, Williams has been responsible for all aspects of the athletic department's operations.He has organized practice schedules and prepared facilities for game day operations as well as hired student workers and managed revenue for ticket and concession sales.He has also been involved with compliance and eligibility requirements for competitions under the NAIA and the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference guidelines.
Williams will continue with these responsibilities and oversee all elements of athletic facility management and game operations as well as supervision of all game-day employees.He will coordinate facility maintenance with the University's Physical Plant and supervise all athletic events.
