The 2012 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic conference preseason baseball poll was released Friday, January 27th by KIAC officials. The defending conference tournament and regular season champion Indiana University Southeast was selected as the top team. The Grenadiers received five first-place votes and 25 total points. Last season, IU Southeast finished the regular season with a 23-2 conference record. They went on to capture the conference tournament and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

The remaining spots in the poll show that the conference should be competitive with the other four schools receiving nearly the same amount of votes. Berea College sits in the second spot in the preseason poll 15 total points. Brescia University is third in the preseason poll with 14 points. Asbury University is fourth with 11 points, followed by Alice Lloyd College with 10 points.

Conference play will begin on February 29th. The season will conclude with the KIAC Tournament April 26-28.
