Matt Trimnell, Indiana University East -- Men's Basketball Player of the Week
6-3 Sophomore - Seymour, IN

Indiana University East sophomore Matt Trimnell was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 30th.

For two games last week, Trimnell averaged 23.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. He became the first IU East player to score 1,000 points as a sophomore in IU East's win against Berea College. The sophomore guard shot 71.4 percent from the field (15-of-21) and made 64.3 percent of his 3-point attempts (9-of-14). Trimnell scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a 103-89 win at Cincinnati Christian on Thursday. He scored 28 points and had 6 assists in a 93-81 win against Berea College on Saturday. He is currently second on the team with an average of 17.96 points per game.

The Red Wolves are 20-5 overall and 7-1 in conference play. They were ranked 13th in the January 23rd NAIA Division II poll and will return to action on February 2nd when they host Brescia University.
