KIAC Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll Released

The 2012-2013 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference preseason women's basketball coaches' poll was released Thursday, October 25th by KIAC officials. The defending conference tournament champion was selected in the top spot.

The KIAC coaches tabbed Indiana University Southeast as the top team in the conference with seven first-place votes and 78 total points. The Grenadiers finished the regular season with a 9-2 record. They went on to win their fourth straight conference tournament title and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

Asbury sits in the second spot in the preseason poll with one first-place vote and 64 total points. Point Park University is projected third with one first-place vote and 61 total points. Alice Lloyd College is fourth with 50 points, followed by Brescia University (47 points), Berea College (38 points), Carlow University (33 points), Midway College (24 points) and St. Louis College of Pharmacy (10 points).

Conference play will begin in mid-November. The season will conclude with the KIAC Tournament February 21-26.
