Asbury University senior Trenia Barbee was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, December 10th. This is her second player of the week award of the season.
Barbee averaged 31.3 points, 4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals last week as the Eagles finished the week 3-0. The senior guard shot 61.1 percent (33-of-54) from the field and 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from behind the 3-point line. She scored an Asbury University single-game record 43 points in a 103-78 win against Midway College. Barbee tallied 26 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals in the Eagles 98-66 win against Oakland City University. She finished the week with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and a 99-65 win against Ohio Christian. Barbee's 24.23 point per game average ranks 2nd in NAIA Division II. She also ranks 11th in total steals (35).
Asbury University is currently 10-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They will return to action on December 13th when they host Centre College.
