No. 14 IU Southeast Falls to Davenport in National Tournament
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. - The No. 14-ranked IU Southeast Grenadiers struggled offensively early and never recovered as they fell to No. 3 seed Davenport (Mi.) on Friday night.
Brice Mitchell, in his final collegiate game, led IU Southeast with 12 points and four rebounds. Darryl Bell had seven points and led IU Southeast with five assists in his final collegiate action.
Both teams shot the ball poorly to start the game but once Davenport found its shooting stroke, they jumped out to a large lead. Davenport shot 50 percent from the field in the game and 53 percent from three-point range.
IU Southeast's normally reliable three-pointers would not fall on this night. They shot 39 percent from the field but just 16 percent (3-19 ) from three-point range.
Davenport dominated the Grenadiers in the paint 39-18. Five players scored in double figures for the Panthers. Davenport was led by JaVontae Ford who had 17 points.
