Asbury Baseball Capture 1st KIAC Title
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - For the first time this season the Eagles won their third straight game, a 2-1 victory over Indiana Southeast in the KIAC Tournament Championship. Asbury captures their first postseason award of any kind in their 22nd year of play.
The Eagles advance to the Unaffiliated Grouping Tournament beginning on Tuesday in Kinston, N.C. at Grainger Field. Two teams from each of the KIAC, America Mideast and Gulf Coast Athletic conferences will take part in the six-team tournament. Indiana Southeast will also represent the KIAC as the regular season champion.
Point Park University (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Fisher College (Boston, Mass.) will represent the AMC. Point Park is currently ranked No. 10 in the NAIA and will join the KIAC next year. Talladega College (Talladega, Ala.) and Edward Waters College (Jacksonville, Fla.) will represent the GCAC.
