Berea, Ky. (May 17th, 2012) - Indiana University East basketball player Marcus Isaac has been named the KIAC Male Athlete of the Year, conference officials announced Thursday, May 17th.

The IU East junior was also named the men's basketball player of the year earlier this season. He finished the season among the leaders in NAIA Division II in several statistical categories. Isaac was third in points per game (19), second in free throw percentage (89.4), sixth in 3-point field goal percentage (46.7), and 31st in overall field goal percentage (54.3). IU East finished with a 24-8 record and made a return trip to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship. The Red Wolves set a school record for wins in a season.

In addition to being named conference player of the year, Isaac received a number of other honors. He was named a NAIA Division II First-Team All-American and was the KIAC Player of the Week three times. The junior was also named to the all-tournament team at the IU/PU Challenge and the Marian University St. Vincent Sports Performance Holiday Tournament. He was also the University of Dubuque Holiday Tournament MVP.
