Aaron Ponder, Berea College -- Men's Basketball Player of the Week

6-4 Sophomore – Berea, KY

Berea College sophomore Aaron Ponder was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 14^th.

Ponder averaged 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals while leading the Mountaineers to three conference wins last week. He started the week with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists in a 72-69 win at Alice Lloyd College. He also connected on 6-of-11 from behind the 3-point line. The sophomore guard then scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in Berea's 96-90 win against Point Park University. Ponder finished the week with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals as Berea defeated Brescia 92-64. He currently ranks 15^th in NAIA Division II assists per game (5.0).

The Mountaineers are currently 11-7 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They will return to action on January 15^th when they travel to Asbury University.
