Asbury University senior Trenia Barbee was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 21st. This is her third player of the week award of the season.
Barbee averaged 28.5 points, 7 rebounds and 3.5 assists as the Eagles finished the week with a 1-1 record. She connected on 47.6 percent (7-of-15) from behind the 3-point line. Barbee started the week with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals in a 71-68 loss to Berea College. She finished the week with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in a 101-77 win against Indiana University Southeast. The senior guard connected on 5-of-8 of her 3-point attempts in the game. Barbee currently ranks 3rd in NAIA Division II points per game (23.04) and is 25th in 3-point field goal percentage (40 percent).
Asbury University is currently 14-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play. They will return to action on January 22nd when they host Kentucky Christian University.
