Suits vs. Sneakers effort set for IU East-Berea game
It's a shoe-in to contribute to this good cause.
The Indiana University East men's basketball program will take part in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Challenge during the Red Wolves' game against Berea College on Jan. 26.
IU East coach Mark Hester will join hundreds of coaches across the country who will coach their games in sneakers this weekend to raise awareness about the fight against cancer.
Red Wolves fans who contribute to the program's season-long fund-raising drive in support of Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis at the game will receive a paper sneaker cutout. Fans are encouraged to write messages on the sneakers and post them throughout the Tiernan Center to honor family members and friends touched by cancer.
Tipoff time for the IU East-Berea game on Jan. 26 is at 2 p.m. in the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.

Suits and Sneakers is a nationwide annual event in which coaches across the country unite for a common cause - fighting cancer!
During the weekend of Jan. 25-28, coaches and their staffs are encouraged to wear sneakers with their suits on game days to raise awareness about the fight against cancer, share the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing one's risk of the disease, and promote the American Cancer Society as a place for people facing cancer to turn 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
