Heather Wheat, Indiana University Southeast -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

5-6 Sophomore – Louisville, KY

Indiana University Southeast sophomore Heather Wheat was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 28^th. This is her second player of the week award of the season.

Wheat averaged 23.5 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals as IU Southeast finished the week with a 2-0 record. The sophomore guard shot 50 percent (16-of-32) from the field and behind the 3-point line (7-of-14). She led the Grenadiers to a 66-54 win against Berea College with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. She also made 6-of-9 3-point attempts in the game. Wheat finished the week with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in a 72-66 win against Kentucky Christian College. She currently ranks 5^th in NAIA Division II points per game (20.095) and 10^th in assists per game (4.905).

Indiana University Southeast is currently 12-9 overall and 4-5 in conference play. They will return to action on February 2^nd when they travel to Alice Lloyd College.
