Point Park University sophomore Derrik Whiten was named the KIAC men's soccer defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, October 14th. This is his second defensive player of the week award of the season. Point Park won their only contest last week, defeating conference opponent Asbury 1-0 at home. Whiten played all 90 minutes and had seven saves in the shutout win. The Pioneers are currently 7-5-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They will return to action on October 16th when they travel to Washington & Jefferson.
