KIAC Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll
The 2013-2014 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference preseason men's basketball poll was released Wednesday, October 23rd by KIAC officials. The two teams that played in last season's conference tournament championship take the top two spots in the preseason poll.
Defending conference champion Indiana University Southeast was unanimously selected as the top team by conference coaches. The Grenadiers received all ten first-place votes and 100 total points. Last season, IU Southeast won the regular season and conference tournament championships. They advanced to the semifinals of the NAIA National Tournament.
Asbury University sits in the second spot in the preseason poll with 80 total points. The Eagles finished the 2012-2013 regular season with a 9-6 record. They were the conference tournament runner-up.
Cincinnati Christian University is third in the preseason poll with 72 points. Indiana University East is projected to finish fourth with 71 points and Point Park University is fifth with 62 points. Berea College is sixth with 52 points, followed by Brescia University (40 points), Alice Lloyd College (32 points), conference newcomer Indiana University Kokomo (30 points) and St. Louis College of Pharmacy (11 points).
Conference play will begin in November. The season will conclude with the KIAC Tournament February 25th – March 1st.
