Berea College senior Katherine Downey was named the KIAC women's soccer defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, October 7th. Berea defeated Brescia 4-1 at home and they defeated Warren Wilson College 2-1 on the road. Downey only allowed two goals last week leading the Mountaineers to a 2-0 record. She currently ranks 3rd in NAIA saves per game (11.43). Berea is currently 4-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play. They will return to action on October 12th when they travel to Midway College.
