Samantha Weir, Point Park University -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Point Park University freshman Samantha Weir was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, December 23^rd. This is her third player of the week award of the season.

No. 21 Point Park won both games last week to remain as one of three unbeaten NAIA Division II women's basketball teams. They defeated LaRoche College 84-70and Mount Vernon Nazarene University 65-57. For the week, Weir averaged 21 points, 14.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks. She connected on 53.3 percent (16-of-30) of her field goal attempts. The freshman center tallied 26 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 blocks and 2 steals in the win against LaRoche. She finished the week with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks against Mount Vernon Nazarene. She is averaging 15.25 points per game. Weir ranks 2^nd in NAIA Division II block per game (3.5) and 7^th in rebounds per game (10.75).

The Pioneers are currently 12-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They will return to action on January 4^th when they travel to IU Southeast.
