IU Southeast Men's Basketball to Play in National Semifinals
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The no.11 seeded IU Southeast Grenadiers will face second-seeded Cardinal Stritch on Monday night at 9 p.m. with a trip to the NAIA National championship game on the line.
Both teams are making their first appearances in the national semifinals. IU Southeast (30-4) advanced to the quarterfinals in 2010 and Cardinal Stritch did the same in 2012.
Both the Grenadiers and Wolves are the champions of their respective conferences. IU Southeast won the regular season and tournament titles in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Cardinal Stritch (33-3) won both titles in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
IU Southeast faced another CCAC member when it dispatched St. Xavier (Ill.) 83-73 in the second round.
The winner of this semifinal will take on the winner of the first semifinal between No. 1 William Penn (Iowa) vs. Grace (Ind.) in the national championship game on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network.
