Indiana Southeast University freshman Whitney Estes was named the KIAC softball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, April 1st.
Estes finished the week with a .692 batting average (9-for-13) as the Grenadiers ended the week with a 4-0 record. The IU Southeast catcher tallied 8 runs batted in, 3 homeruns, 2 triples, 2 doubles and 6 runs scored. She had two multi-hit games including a 5-for-5 effort with two homeruns against St. Catharine. In sixteen games this season, Estes is batting .548 (23-for-42) with 6 homeruns.
IU Southeast is currently 18-4 overall and 8-0 in conference play. They will return to action on April 2nd when they host Midway College for a doubleheader.
