Nathan Sphon, Point Park University – Baseball Pitcher of the Week

5-7 Sophomore – Greensburg, PA

Point Park University sophomore Nathan Sphon was named the KIAC baseball pitcher of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, April 8th.

Sphon started the game against Brescia last week and lost a no-hitter in the seventh inning as Point Park won the game 14-3. He did not allow an earned run and only allowed single hit in 6.1 innings. He struck out five Brescia batters. Sphon is 2-3 on the season with a 5.15 earned run average over 36.2 innings pitched. The Pioneers finished the week 7-0.

Point Park University is 22-11 overall and 12-4 in conference play. They will return to action on April 9th when they host Clarion Universityfor a doubleheader.
