STLCOP's Jordan Robertson is NAIA All-American
St. Louis College of Pharmacy's Jordan Robertson returned home from the 2013 NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marion, Ind., as an All-American in the javelin throw. It was Robertson's first throw of the competition on Thursday, May 23, marked at 55.69m (182-08.5), that would launch him into the finals and ultimately earn him seventh-place in the NAIA. All-America honors are awarded to the top eight individuals in each event. Robertson, a fourth-year student, is the second student-athlete to earn All-America status in STLCOP's 20-year history in the NAIA.
Robertson's seventh-place finish of 18 competitors unexpectedly earned two points for St. Louis College of Pharmacy and 56th place in the NAIA team rankings. It was the first time the Eutectics had ever scored at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Robertson was ranked 21st in the NAIA in the javelin throw going into nationals, with his qualifying throw of 56.22m (184-05) (the STLCOP record) at the Washington University Invitational on March 29. He finished second at the KIAC Championships on April 27 to Berea's David Orr, who took 10th place at the NAIA championships.
