Women's Tennis Preseason Poll Released
Indiana University Southeast Women's Tennis Preseason Favorite
The KIAC coaches have selected Indiana University Southeast as the preseason favorite in women's tennis for the 2013 season, conference officials announced Tuesday, August 13th. IU Southeast collected 64 points including eight first place votes. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team. IU Southeast won the regular season and conference tournament championships last season. Asbury University was the conference tournament runner-up last season and sits in the second spot with 55 points and one first place vote. Indiana University East was selected third by the coaches and received 49 points. Fourth place belongs to Brescia University (38 points). St. Louis College of Pharmacy (32 points) and Midway College (32 points) are tied for fifth in the poll. The rest of the poll includes Berea College (27 points), Carlow University (18 points) and Alice Lloyd College (9 points). The 2013 women's tennis season will begin in late August.
